"The Monson Snowboard Design Contest is unlike any other web event. It brings together thousands of people for a sole purpose: building some of the most innovative and creative snowboards."

— from the Monson Snowboards 2002 Design Contest Rules and Regulations

Monson Snowboards puts on an annual snowboard design contest and in December of 2001, over 1100 people entered the frosty fray, including me. I designed this during a holiday trip after seeing some dolls that inspired it in a Japanese market. I just thought, "Why not?" My design, Snowgeisha made it as a Top 40 Finalist. Although it finished #27 or thereabouts, at least it got turned into an honest-to-god snowboard that hangs in my living room.
