Dr. Courtney Johnson, the founder, president and CEO of Oh!Mind, Inc., publisher of the highly acclaimed Story Therapy™ series. Dr. Johnson created Oh!Mind as a means of providing an effective, affordable method for all people to enhance their lives and accelerate personal growth.
When she was first formulating this series of recordings, she asked me to help her with a complete design for her company's collateral, from
logo to printed collateral to website and packaging for her CDs. It was a lot of work, but thankfully Courtney knew what she liked--a clean, spare
and safe aesthetic. She'd had a friend attempt to start design on the logo, but it wasn't going in the right direction. I decided to take
a divide and conquer approach to the job and called in a friend to help with the design and IA aspect of the job.
Oh!Mind's requirements list for the website were somewhat simple for a commerce site: Home page, product page, shopping cart...the usual. However, with all that had to be done, it looked to be daunting within a short time frame.
Enter Renee Anderson, my good friend and ex-coworker from Hot. She and I tag-teamed on the design and within record time, we
cranked together something the client loved. The taupe was a good, safe color, whereas the burgundy provided enough pop to draw the eye. We stuck with the clean lines to keep the pages spare, but divided into neat areas where their functions would be very clear.
Upon completion of the design phase, we handed the pages off to Gregory, our favorite front-end wizard, to build in record time, and to coordinate the hand-off of pages to the back-end developers for implementation of the shopping cart.
